Mexican Themed Party in Viva La Fiesta

The Viva La Fiesta Interior

This bold, colourful Mexican-inspired marquee interior is a collaboration between ATC founder Katherine Hudson and the jewellery designer Rosita Bonita. Trained at St Martins College of Art, her signature style is drawn from the bold colours and distinctive motifs of Mexico.

Inspiration

Viva la Fiesta was born for Summer Garden Parties. With its themed interior and décor drawing from Latin American inspirations and ‘Day of the Dead’. Frida Kahlo also acts as a muse for the interior. It’s the perfect unique design for a Mexican themed party.

In particular, it’s a nod to the cultural influences of Mexico and Argentina. The bright colours, fabrics and designs combined with the popularity of street food. Additionally, their love for pops of colour against pure white backgrounds. On a road trip through Argentina, the spark came from tribal textiles and natural dyes in an array of bright colours.

Design Process

The path to the final design took many different twists and turns, considering a variety of motifs and colour palette’s. So eventually we chose Pantone's 'Radiant Orchid' to become the focal colour. The print itself switched from birds to floral embroidery throughout the formation. However, every aspect of the process made it into the final design. Whether it be on the drapes or embroidered cushions amongst other soft furnishings, such as pom poms adorning the chandelier.

The final result has a distinct floral theme

Hand embroidered Mexican fabric was also sourced from ‘Montes and Clark’, an ethical Mexican furnishings company. We used it to adorn lampshades and to create cushions and bedspreads for the boudoir version of the interior. It was important to make the final model as authentic as possible.

The Boudoir version of the Viva interior is perfect to take 'Glamping' up a notch!

The final result is a stunning brightly coloured floral motif for the ceiling swags and wall drapes. It has a grey lace-effect background for the ceiling on white cotton. This creates a fresh, funky look for a wedding, or summer party. Theme the interior with delicious run-based cocktails in these fabulous cocktail mugs. The Viva La Fiesta interior will really make parties go with a swing.

Skull cocktail mugs are the perfect detail to bring the party to life
