William Morris Marquee Walls

Although the William Morris marquee we designed in 2006 has been a huge success from the start, and has looked stunning at all the weddings and parties it's been booked for, we couldn't quite shake the feeling that something was missing from the overall look of the tent interior.

The thought continued to sit at the back of Katherine's mind, and inspiration struck after hanging some new curtains in her house. "I'd bought some lovely fabric from a little seconds shop in Eastbourne, I kept thinking how pretty the basis of the design was, and I just started to add bits to it in my mind... after a while I realised I had built an entire tree of life style design which would be absolutely perfect for the William Morris tent walls!"

With the concept complete it was time to make a sample to see how it would work in reality, and work started in Photoshop to try to bring to life the vision in Katherine's mind...

Now the design had taken shape, the next step was to get a sample printed and try it against the colours of the William Morris tent to see how it worked... Happily it looked fantastic and finished the interior off perfectly. The new walls were then printed to size and fixed to the marquee, just in time for the start of a glorious summer season. The William Morris tent was used with its new walls for the first time at a sublime and laid back marquee wedding in Sussex in June.

The bride and groom and all their guests were thrilled with the result... and so were we!

Events Director and Founder

Katherine is the founder of Arabian Tents and her day is a whirlwind of meeting clients, writing emails (lots of them!), brainstorming décor ideas and snatching moments to feel very lucky she loves what she does.

When throwing a party it’s always colourful, inviting, warm and relaxing – she loves the Purple Palace interior as it apparently looks good against everyone and she makes sure there is always a ‘surprise’ for guests, whether it be a secret room to discover, an alternative performance or after-dinner liqueur treats. She believes that people parties are important and moments at them are remembered for the rest of people’s lives, so it’s important to break the ice as fast as possible and get on with having fun! The next project she’s working on is a new structure design that should be manufactured and ready to be unveiled to the world next year!
