What a Summer it has been! We have packed, delivered, erected, dismantled and restocked 1.2 million tonnes of equipment during our busy Summer season. We have driven over 54,700 miles and delivered 138 incredible events including weddings, private parties, community events and festivals totally over 16,673 hours of work!
Reflecting back over the season, we have been part of many incredible events, but here are some of our highlights...
Christian and Eliza's Wedding at Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons
This beautiful wedding was a pleasure to work on from start to finish. Held at Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons next to their modern conservatory, Eliza wanted an orchard feel to the wedding, and wanted a very rustic, natural feel to the marquee.
For this event we used a clear roof marquee to match with the glass look of La Belle Epoc, but added the rustic feel with hessian, fairy lights and our wisteria chandelier that we added grasses, roses and the bouquet flowers to in order to tie it together. We finalised the look with a twilight cherry tree to the side of the stage, eclectic pallet furniture with sheepskins, and bringing in elegance in nature with some of our newly created William Morris cushions.
We really ‘got’ and interpreted their concept and received a heartfelt thank you card afterwards. All in all a very satisfying event to work on!
Karla & Jack's Surrey Marquee Wedding...
Karla lives and works in Dubai but grew up in Surrey where her parents still live, so she wanted to come back to host an elegant yet countryside wedding.
She loved the elegance of the Osyter Pearl tent, which we draped with three tones of voile and added fairy lights under them as well as billowy drapes for the legs of the tent. She went to town with the flowers, and was absolutely delighted with the end look.
Her dad headed up the project management of the wedding and was a dream to work with, on hand for any practical assistance, as well as keeping the crew well watered during some extremely hot July weather! The celebrations were incredible with guests drinking lots of champagne and dancing well into the night!
Dr Sheru’s Event...
One of the main reason’s we do what we do, is to create environments that enhance enjoyment, experience and connection to each other, so it was an honour to assist with Dr Sheru’s event which he hosts every year for his colleagues in the NHS to thank them for their hard work over the past year. He is a surgeon in Surrey, who is currently hosting 6 Ukrainian children and every year funds this thank you event for his colleagues completely independently, laying on food, entertainment and music for an evening where he puts a huge amount of energy, planning and thought into the event which is the highlight of many of his friends summer calender.
Shambala Festival...
Shambala was the Festival highlight of our summer and after 2 years out it was a privilidge to have been involved with this fiercely independent festival since 2004. Now almost 20 years later Shambala proves itself every year to be the most positive, inclusive, fun, friendly and enriching environment…where you really do spend the weekend feeling the LOVE!
Next year we’re planning to expand the Cabaret space we create for Compass Presents so watch this space!
