After an exhaustive search across the UK for a unique party tent and finding only standard white PVC marquees, Katherine took matters into her own hands. She travelled to Morocco in pursuit of something special and returned with a traditional Moroccan tent strapped to her army truck. Though modest, it sparked a new venture. Word spread quickly, and her tent became a popular feature at events across the UK.

Fuelled by passion and creativity, Katherine began designing her own marquee interiors, collecting unique furnishings, lanterns, cushions, and ornaments. This marked the beginning of The Arabian Tent Company – a business built on originality, artistry, and the ambition to bring unforgettable atmospheres to life.

Over the past 20 years, the company has grown into the UK’s largest provider of unique marquees, supported by a talented team of drapers, event specialists, and crew. Despite economic challenges including two recessions and a global pandemic, they have continued to deliver stunning spaces for festivals, weddings, and private parties throughout the UK and Europe.

In response to today’s climate concerns, the company has taken steps toward sustainability by introducing a tree-planting scheme to offset delivery emissions and limiting their delivery radius to 100 miles from their West Sussex base. They acknowledge the environmental impact of temporary events and actively work with clients to reduce emissions, offering offset options and guidance to make celebrations more eco-conscious.
