Colours totally transform the atmosphere of an environment and in turn the experience of people within that environment.
Many years of study in colour theory and interior design shows this without doubt.
When we started 20 years ago, there was an empty desert of options when it came to inspiring marquee interiors. Since then the outdoor events industry in the UK has changed significantly. We now have a rainbow pallet of decor and every kind of styling accessories at our finger tips.
If this has left you feeling a little overwhelmed lets focus on this years trending colours and how to use them in your marquee decor.
Here are 6 trending colour palettes for 2025 with ideas on how to work them into your marquee wedding or party… Enjoy!
1) Cherry Coded
Cherry red is one of our favourite trending colours this year. We have been really enjoying playing with red on red decor themes. It’s worth noting in general monochromatic colour palettes are in and are set to stay for a long while. So if you’re struggling deciding what to pair a colour with – don’t!
Sumptuous, sensual and with a little touch of risk. Red always creates a warm and inviting space that keeps guests on their toes- very useful for dancing!
Red is also known to stimulate, quickening the pulse and stimulating appetite and so would be perfect for a dining area.
Our La Rouge marquee interior is the perfect tent to choose if you are set on a red theme. You could use it alongside multiple marquees. Create different spaces with the red velvet for the ‘dining room’ or dance floor…
Red drapes can be used to decorate any space, a marquee, a venue or home to create a soft and mysterious feeling as demonstrated below.

2) Mocha Mousse
Earthy brown mocha is such a versatile colour to style a marquee with. It goes with almost anything- you can stick to using nature as inspiration and pair with the sky blue or burnt orange of the desert, earthy browns and greenery for a more bohemian feel, or go ultra modern and use mocha as an accent to white on white.
Brown colours are shown to make us feel safe and of course are reminiscent of the natural world. So if you are looking to heighten the outdoor experience then mocha is a great choice.
Our love for this colour goes so deep we dedicated a whole editorial shoot to playing with the mocha theme, so there’s much more inspiration to be had if you’re considering an earthy colour palette for your marquee decor

3) Neutral Marquee Decor
Neutrals will never go out of style as they suit everyone, are ultra versatile and are very easy to find and work with. Neutral marquee decor is still the top choice for weddings and is also a great way to create a feeling of spaciousness and modernity.
A neutral colour palette is proven to make us feel calm and relaxed. With white as the colour of new beginnings and serenity. So a great choice for a wedding day!
Greenery is the perfect accompaniment to a neutral backdrop. We love creating whimsical white draping against a white canvas marquee and neutral decor with lots of green foliage and hanging greenery for an elegant and natural feeling…
Our traditional white canvas pole marquees are the perfect classic marquee to hire for this look. Or if you are looking for an ultra glamorous marquee for a black tie wedding, then our sister company Pearl Tents with their Mogul marquees with vaulted ceilings is what you need.

4) Sunny Yellow & Orange Marquee Decor
Sunny Yellow & Orange are big colours to have fun with this year. It’s no wonder as they create such a feeling of joy and happiness. They are also proven to stimulate conversation and deeper sharing. So a perfect choice for a party.
Pair yellow and orange hues with red drapes and rustic eclectic furniture and you have a creative and relaxing environment for deep conversation, recharging between dancing and catching up with your friends and family.
Our saffron yellow marquee has always been a popular choice for lounge areas, VIP spa areas at festivals and chillout spaces at parties for these reasons. You may have seen it at WOMAD.

5) Pale Blue
Blue is a whimsical and beautiful colour choice for marquee decor. Evoking a feeling of tranquility, using blue, can make guests feel peaceful and also intellectual which is a great result for any event.
Use touches of blue alongside white or cream for a light and airy and fairytale feeling, adding green to create an elegant and natural space.
Our Cornish Cream marquee interior is one of our most popular wedding marquees. It is used often as a dining tent or for the entire wedding reception space as it’s so versatile.

6) Metallic accents
We have noticed metallic accents becoming more and more popular for decor choices. Our silver bar backdrop and disco ball chandelier is perfect for this reason.
Metallic touches don’t have to stop at silver though. Try playing with clashing metallic tones in silver, gold and copper. Or go for the monochromatic look and layer the same metallic shade in drapes, chandeliers, candelabras and accessories.
